Music journalist Rachel Freitas dives deep into Leave The Former’s meaningful ‘Nonsense’ EP on Music Existence, complementing her story telling and strength.
“Channeling a bit of Delores O’Riordan from The Cranberries, Castañeda manages to come off as both strong and broken which one could say is the theme of the entire album.”

Online outlet VENTS premiered Leave The Former’s new track “Boundaries.” This is a song you’re going to want to hear after you read about the inspiration behind it all:
“I wrote Boundaries after a venue I was supposed to play at told me I couldn’t perform because the bands playing that night didn’t want a girl playing with them. This is the sort of stuff that seems made up but at that point I realized that sexism still exists in the music industry and basically everywhere else. As I continued writing the song I thought about all other types of hate that are still present in our society such as racism, homophobia, etc. It makes me angry watching all of this happen before my eyes but thankfully this song helps me relieve all that pain.”
