Made up of brothers Grant and Eddie Hamilton, along with Jack Hebert and Isaac Hesse, Guytano is Minnesota’s newest alt-rock band, harnessing the sounds of acts like Snow Patrol, Coldplay, and The Killers. Though young in age, this foursome have been perfecting their craft since just 10 years old, after a life-changing conversation with a family member, that would later direct the course of their career.
“We were sitting around talking to Grant’s cousin and he was telling us he likes finding music that relates to his life. That’s when Grant said that he said would rather make music that relates to his own life. That’s when we realized that we could make our own music. Up until then we had been playing cover music. It was a real mental shift.”
Riding that inspiration, the band took to the studio last year to record their debut release, ‘I Am Inside My Body’, recorded with Aaron Ankrum (Grayshot), and mastered by Huntley Miller (Bon Iver).
“We recorded three songs in Mid-2015 and then new material just started flowing out of us, so we decided to hold off releasing an EP and add an additional seven songs to make it a full-length album. In the end, we had an amazing time writing and recording this. What could be better than hanging out with your best friends, playing music until 3am, sleeping on the floor, and eating cold pizza! It was just complete good vibes.”
‘I Am Inside My Body’ drops December 9th, and will be followed by a music video for “Fall Back in Your Arms” in early 2017.
