“Shiffley, as a band, lies on the other side of DIY, on the side that is transparently earnest in its outreach for commercial success. And this, in itself, makes the band that much more endearing, and that much more likely to succeed.” – NYS Music
When a band like Long Island’s Shiffley comes along, you pay attention. Not just because of their catchy melodies and dance-worthy beats, each carefully woven into their unique brand of synth-driven pop-rock. Not just because they put on a stellar live show, filled with quirky antics and memorable sets. It’s because whether they’re playing one of their celebrated live sets, or putting out another infectious tune, this band is the full package, through and through.
Altruistic in their interactions and full of passion in their musical endeavors, the band brilliantly walks the line between DIY artist and radio-ready icons. Made up of Alex Ganes (vocals/guitar), Alex Jenks (synth), Bryan Contreras (Drums), and Shaune Killough (Bass), Shiffley has been bringing their vigorous spirit to the NYC music scene and beyond for the last four years—and they’re nowhere near finished.
Since the release of 2015’s ‘Anthem City’, the band has been diligently working towards their first full-length release. If there’s any doubt that their future offerings will be anything less than extraordinary, fans need only listen to their newest single, the fast-paced, contagious, dance pop anthem, “Systems”, recorded at Freshly Baked Studios.
With numerous success in TV placements (E!, TruTV, MTV Canada, and Travel Channel), and opening slots for acts such as Twenty One Pilots, Night Riots, Plain White T’s, Strange Talk, Patent Pending, and Donna Missal, as well as a spot on Spotify’s “Feel Good Indie Rock” playlist, the band has seen no shortage of success since their inception, and with their full-length poised for release in early 2017, they are without a doubt a band that you’ll want to keep your eye on.
