Campaign Overview

In May of 2015 Muddy Paw PR was retained to promote Canadian artist Jules’ self-released EP, Heart of Armor, as well as her music video “Super Girl.” At just 14 years old, Jules had landed a finalist spot at the 2015 International Acoustic Music Awards, as well as 2014’s Unsigned Only Music Competition, receiving praise from Zedd Records VP Angelo Dodaro, who said “There’s definitely something special about Jules. Wisdom beyond her years and a voice to back it up. I will be completely unsurprised the day she gets her first big break!”

Our Strategy

Having such enormous talent at such a young age could be seen as both a blessing and a curse. Where some people might have seen a young, naive teenager, Muddy Paw saw a whirlwind of talent, brimming with potential and the drive needed to succeed. It was our job to get that vision to the masses, bringing Heart of Armor and “Super Girl” to the public . We employed a personalized outreach strategy that targeted outlets throughout North America, announcing the album’s release, and later the video’s release. We secured track and video premieres on top Canadian and American websites, coordinating interviews, guest blogs, and reviews throughout the three month push.

Results

The response from both Canadian and American markets was incredibly positive. We set up premieres and features on leading Canadian sites such as A Music Blog Yea?, as well as a video premiere on Cliche Mag that saw over 1,700 plays in less than 24 hours.
